The Columbus house boys snorkeling with James Sarles & Anthony Welch
Rotary Club GB Sunrise Columbus House Big Brother Program had a great day this past Saturday. Residents of Columbus House in the back of town supervised by Director of the Program James Sarles and volunteer Anthony Welch had a snorkeling adventure. The boys used their snorkeling skills learned at UNEXSO and had a great time cooling down and enjoying the coral reefs followed by a picnic at Peterson Cay.
(The Starfish was let free as the boys were taught to respect the marine environment).
The Columbus House Big Brother Program is a volunteer mentoring program for teens 12 -17 in Columbus House to develop self esteem, teach life skills and provide guidance and assistance with jobs and apartments during the transition phase when the teens age out of the facility.
