I needed to post this as my husband is one of many who had to endure long lines and disorganised staff at the former passport office. He left the house at 4am, YES 4AM. to guarantee him a face to face session with passport workers. He had made the mistake of waking up the previous day at 6am and after waiting ALL DAY, was turned away at 3pm because he Still hadn't gotten to the front of the queue. To all those who suffered with this archaic system, I'm sure this will come as good news.

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – The dedication of additional printing time for ePassport applications out of Grand Bahama has resulted in the completion of hundreds of the new passports ready for collection at the Grand Bahama passport office.
Over 1200 ePassports require collection.
To address the protracted backlog of ePassport applications for Grand Bahama residents, Foreign Affairs Minister the Hon. Brent Symonette directed that an entire day in a week be allotted solely for the printing of those passports.
A printing machine is currently dedicated to the production of ePassports for Grand Bahama residents. The total number of printing machines – all housed in New Providence - has also been increased to improve service to Bahamians throughout the country.
As part of the process of expanding service capacity on Grand Bahama, the number of passport office phone lines was increased from two to seven, including an appointment line, a hotline and a complaints line.
Staffing at the office has also been increased to better serve clients on the island.
