Grand Bahama Power apologizes for power outages

May 6th, 2010 –1:00 PM FREEPORT, Grand Bahama Island -- The Grand Bahama Power Company apologizes to its customers for the series of power outages they have endured over the past three days. Due to load demands, mechanical failure and current operating challenges being experienced at its plant over the past three days, customers have been placed on a rotational basis. This rotation is expected to continue for the remainder of the week.

The company is working diligently and quickly to resolve the power situation and it is hoped that full power will be restored soon.

In an effort to reduce the load demand, customers are asked to conserve energy.

The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
